Day of the Dead Earrings | Dia de los Muertos |

I have always been fascinated with the skeletal art representing Dia de los Muertos. The artful and unique use of color and expression is mesmerizing. I love the haunting yet humorous way the skeleton figurines represent and honor the dead.

There were two moments that compelled me to create my Day of the Dead earrings. The first was meeting a pencil thin, rockabilly girl who would have fainted had she seen a pair of sugar skull earrings made from guitar picks. She wanted a pair so badly. I was also contacted by a private music school in San Francisco to participate in their Day of the Dead Fundraiser. I am donating a portion of this collection to raise money for music education scholarships.
